My Site: Microsoft Throws In The Towel
For all the people out there who have ever had to design and code a website for different browsers specifically because of the fact that different browsers decided to do their own thing, Microsoft has decided that IE8 will now be fully standards compliant.
Take that in for a second.
IE8 was always the enemy. And now, I don’t have to worry about designing a site and always cross-checking against Internet Explorer? Let’s just hope that Microsoft doesn’t pull a 180 and go back on this promise. Many people feel the same way, seeing as how IE7 was supposed to have the same sentiment towards the web but was really just an extension of IE6. In this case, it seems Microsoft sounds sincere.
